coi

What does it look like to slow down, move with intention, ask big questions, touch the dirt, take full breaths, embrace imperfections, and share our resources?

coi is a clothing and accessories line based in Los Angeles/San Gabriel Valley, CA (land of Gabrieleno/Tongva peoples) and run by frankie, a queer second-gen who’s part of the Teochew Chinese-Vietnamese diaspora. They are very much an experimentation and manifestation of values, as well as a space to explore and reconnect to memories, stories, and culture through crafts.

coi imagines fashion as a tool for political education, wealth and resource redistribution, and creative expression, one that is grounded in comfort, sustainability, and community. Their intention is for you to make use of their pieces often and for a long time—for many gatherings, meals, and moments at home.

In Cantonese, coi means vegetable. chai in Teochew, cài in Mandarin, cải in Vietnamese.
